Se observa una pupa (al centro de la foto). Este estado dura alrededor de 10 días. El capullo tiene aspecto sedoso, es poco denso en fibras y mide 8 mm de largo aprox. Su ciclo de vida es holometábolo (pasa por huevo, larva, pupa y adulto). Esta especie es considerada una plaga económica.
