Blechnum magellanicum (katalapi) y Blechnum chilense (costilla de vaca) son helechos nativos de Chile y Argentina, a menudo confundidos, pero B. magellanicum suele crecer más adentro del bosque, mientras que B. chilense puede estar en bordes o sitios más secos.
