Habitualmente, no levanta tanto, como en la ocasión de esta foto, la cresta eréctil. Lo habitual es un semicopete. Esto podía confundirla con Cogujada común, pero en la foto siguiente de la ráfaga de disparos, al levantar el vuelo se le vió las timoneras extremas blancas, y eso es definitivo.
