Agrícola comunica que recientemente se han detectado ejemplares del “Picudo
rojo de las palmeras” (Rynchophorus ferrugineus, Coleoptera, Curculionidae) en
palmeras de la especie Phoenix canariensis en el departamento de Canelones.
Rynchophorus ferrugineus es una Plaga Ausente en Uruguay y la región.
