Determinada con "Revision of the orb-weaving spider genus Verrucosa McCook, 1888 (Araneae, Araneidae)" (2015). Los dos tubérculos laterales a cada lado del abdomen son diagnósticos de esta especie. Las demás posibles solo tienen tubérculos apicales y subapicales.
