One adult and three or four all black chicks. First seen crossing the path. Then, one adult seen well through the binoculars (gray front side, brown back with white spots, barred vent). Finally, two very bad photos of a chick, which I post anyway because this concerns an unusual observation. Subspecies Laterallus jamaicensis murivagans.
