En www.coleoptera-neotropical.org/paginas/2.../tenebrion_arg.html, se la nombra como unica especie para su genero y Tribu en el pais.En el trabajo "Primer registro de artropodofauna cadavérica en sustratos humanos y animales en San Juan, Argentina", de la Revista de la Sociedad Entomologica Argentina, se la nombra como habitante de la region cuyana.
