Hay unas 16 especies de este genero presentes en Argentina (http://coleoptera-neotropical.org/6_Arthropoda/Hymenoptera/paises-hym/argentina/vespidae-argentina.html). Confrontando imagenes de internet de ejemplares del genero se descartan varias (de las disponibles en la web): H.anae, H.houssayi, H.torresi, H.oresbios, H.tuberculatus, H.vespiformis y H.chilensis y se concluye - al menos temporalmente, moderadores corroborar- que el ejemplar en cuestion corresponderia a H.humeralis
