El ejemplar fue identificado por 2 entomólogos expertos en coleópteros que coincidieron el la especie Stolas lacordairei. Uno de ellos comparó al mismo con material depositado en la colección oficial de un museo y el otro utilizó el siguiente trabajo http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25544373
