Se consideran control biológico de ciertos grupos de chilcas como Eupatorium ahora parte Chromolaena, consideradas malezas por algunos. De tal forma han sido liberadas al ambiente (previa crianza) pese a ser organismos autóctonos, como una forma de incrementar la presión sobre esas plantas mal supuestas malezas.
