Se contaron un total aproximado de 1350 Cauquenes de las tres especies (picta, poliocephala y rubidiceps), el 22% o 297 individuos se trataban de C. rubidiceps, el 3% o 41 individuos se trataban de C. picta y el 75% o 1012 individuos restantes se trataban de C. poliocephala.
