Las orugas de esta especie solo se crían en Amaryllidaceae y, cuando llegan al final de este estadio se entierran en el lecho para pupar. El ciclo de la larva y ecdisis de los imagos varían dependiendo de la época del año y estos últimos exhiben sutiles patrones morfológicos o dimorfismo que permiten diferenciarlos, siendo las hembras algo más pequeñas, con abdómenes más abultados y antenas más finas.
