Para identificarlo me basé en el gran tamaño, el comentario de Jorge Iriberri en la ficha de esta especie en EcoRegistrs, por la parte azul metalizada en el abdomen (más visible desde otros ángulos), por la forma ancha y corta del abdomen y por las setas que lo cubren.
