Tanto en San Francisco, como en el Parque Nacional Calilegua en todas sus alturas (Monolito, Mesada, San Lorenzo) lo hemos escuchado mucho, también en el norte de Salta. Donde más lo detectamos es en los alrededores del Arroyo Tres Cruces del PN. Si bien es muy fácil de detectar por su vocalización, tanto de canto como de contacto, es bastante dificil de observar, por lo que hay que estar preparado para reconocer su vocalización.
