Allograpta exotica se distingue de A. obliqua por:
1- Franja negra en el centro de la cara (amarillo en A. Obliqua).
2 - katepisternum negro (amarillo en A. Obliqua).
3 - No posee triángulos amarillos en el patrón del segundo tergito abdominal (A. Obliqua sí los posee, en cada lado).
