Habitantes de la cuenca del Plata, con color del cuerpo gris-verdoso claro. En los lados muestran rayas longitudinales punteadas. En algunos ejemplares, se divisaba perfectamente una mancha anaranjada cerca de la aleta anal, lo cual indica hembras no fertilizadas.
