Determinado con Schnack J A 1976. Los Belostomatidae de la República Argentina (Hemiptera). Pp. 1-66 en base a individuos pisados en las veredas, caen decenas por noche en luces y quedan en charcos o recipientes con agua.
Primer segmento del rostro mayor que segundo. Base del clípeo no llega a línea ocular. 33 a 37 mm x 14 a 16 mm.
Las "pelotitas" grises son Temnocephalida (Platyhelmintes) que a veces confunden con ácaros.
