Especie exótica asilvestrada que se distribuye por zonas lindantes a la costa atlántica en Argentina (Buenos Aires), Uruguay y Brasil. Es una especie muy asociada a vegetación exótica (especialmente cardas y pinos), y comparte el nicho con Sporagra magellanica. Pudimos ver varias bandaditas alimentándose en cardas, siempre muy ariscos.
