Conservation status according to BirdLife International: Least Concern

Description: Blackish back, black wings with white edges, black tail with outer tail feathers and white tip, gray underparts. The female has a striated head, olive-colored back, and ochraceous underparts.

Geographic Distribution: North of Salta and southeast of Jujuy.

Habitat: Upper strata in yungas.

Behavior: Active, with a strong and pleasant voice.
