Current Situation: Described as a new species by Narosky (1977). It is currently considered a color variation of White-breasted Finch (Sporophila palustris) by Areta (2008). It is similar to the White-breasted Finch (Sporophila palustris) except that it has a white collar instead of just the throat and chest, has the same vocalization, and uses the same environment.Description: Lead-colored crown, white collar, black wings with a white wing band, black tail; back, rump, and ventral side cinnamon-colored.Author of this compilation: Jorge La Grotteria
