This sheet contains the records of Polistes sp. belonging to the subgenus Aphanilopterus (also called the "canadensis-exclamans" group) that cannot be differentiated by sight alone or whose specific boundaries are still unclear, such as Polistes canadensis, P. ferreri, P. consobrinus, P. brevifissus, or P. lanio. To publish one of them as a species, it will be necessary to specify how it was differentiated from the others, or which specialist identified it.
