Description: Black, with 2 visible white bands on the tail; gray wing feathers barred with whitish. The juvenile has white streaks on the ventral side.Geographic Distribution within Argentina: Salta, Jujuy, Formosa, Tucumán, Chaco, Santiago del Estero, northern Santa Fe, Corrientes, and Misiones.Similar in appearance and flight to the Red-headed Vulture (Cathartes aura) and the Swallow-tailed Kite (Circus buffoni).A species of recent appearance in Argentina.Author of this description: Jorge La Grotteria
