Las deposiciones de los pájaros fruteros diseminan esta especie por toda la ciudad. Al posarse en las ramas del arbolado público eventualmente alguna excreta cae en el alcorque lo que permite que al azar una semilla germine. Luego la planta ascenderá por el tronco, llegará hasta la copa y se expandirá por el cableado urbano de electricidad.
