Un bicho muy lindo con unos colores muy llamativos y un canto muy hermoso, lastimosamente en la actualidad se encuentra muy amenazado por la disminución del ecosistema que afecta decisivamente su hábitat y también por su captura para el tráfico ilegal, por suerte hay personas de buen corazón que están haciendo lo posible para evitar su extinción.
En el área donde el ejemplar fue fotografiado se están realizando de proyectos de protección y seguimientos de las colonias.
