Es llamativo por su cresta, es de un tamaño similar al del benteveo, y se lo observó solo pero la mayoría de las veces en grupo. En vuelo, es notable la faja blanca en primarias. La registré por primera vez el 17/09/12 y luego la volví a registrar en otras oportunidades, la última el 27/10/12.
