Algunas claves para la identificación:
1- Distribución geográfica y registros anteriores en la zona.
2- Hábitos: una de las pocas especies que anida en el suelo, dentro de esta familia arborícola.
3- Coloración marrón oscuro.
4- Tamaño (de 7 a 10 mm.)
5- La forma del peciolo la diferencia de P. gracilis, única especie que la iguala -o supera- en tamaño y también habita la zona (registros en Costanera sur).
