Description: Brown back, black tail; throat, chest, and subcaudal whitish, broad reddish flanks; large crest, head, nape, and cheeks reddish with white streaks.

Geographical Distribution within Argentina: Jujuy, Salta, and Formosa to Río Negro and southern Buenos Aires.

Habitat: Forests and steppes.

Behavior: Very fast runner. Often found in bushes.
